Dr. Gang Xiao will speak on the advancements being made in clean energy in China and potential collaborations with the US. The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) is the largest offshore oil and gas producer in China. Dr. Xiao is the Chief Scientist of CNOOC’s New Energy Investment Co that is investing and developing a range of clean energy technologies including solar, wind, coal conversion, cellulosic ethanol production, energy storage, hydrogen generation and electric vehicles.
Dr. Xiao is an elected Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry and received his B.Sc. in Thermo-engineering from Northeastern University in 1984 and his Ph.D. in Electrochemistry from Technical University of Denmark in 1992.
